SA: Lands titles staff in snap strike
Public service staff at Adelaide's Lands Titles Office have walked off the job as a
series of snap strikes continue in support of a pay claim.
The Public Service Association says lands titles staff walked off the job at 10.30am
(CST) and will meet at lunch time to consider how long to stay out.
Their action means there'll be no property settlements completed until they return to work.
The strike follows a two-hour stoppage yesterday by sheriff officers in the Adelaide courts.
Last month about 15,000 public servants across South Australia staged a 24-hour strike.
The union is campaigning for a 12 per cent pay rise over two years but has indicated
to the government it is prepared to accept 10 per cent.
The government has offered eight per cent for some lower-paid workers and seven per
cent for others, and Industrial Relations Minister MICHAEL WRIGHT says the offer won't
be revised.
