NSW: Anglican service to be held for fire victims

The Anglican Archbishop of Sydney PETER JENSEN will lead a weekend prayer service for
the victims of the New South Wales bushfires.

The service will be held at St Andrews Cathedral in Sydney's CBD at 10.30am (AEDT) on Sunday.

Archbishop JENSEN says prayers will also be held for rain to assist the firefighting effort.

Trained volunteers from the Anglicare emergency services unit have been working alongside
government welfare agencies in helping fire victims.

The head of the unit, TERRY O'MARA, is to provide a briefing after the prayer service
on the situation.
