FED: Top female cop to fight her sacking in court

SYDNEY, Dec 15 AAP - A senior NSW policewoman sacked last week plans to challenge herdismissal in court.

The Sunday Telegraph reported today the Police Association had taken up the case ofLola Scott, a chief superintendent who was the state's most senior female officer.

Association president Ian Ball said Ms Scott deserved a full and proper explanationfor her sacking.

The union said new laws that allowed the police commissioner to sack any senior officerwithout a reason were unfair, the newspaper reported.

Commissioner Ken Moroney last week released details of the two-year internal investigationthat led to Ms Scott's dismissal but did not give reasons for the move.

However, he said there had been 15 complaints against her during the inquiry.

Ms Scott last week said she'd been the subject of a witchhunt.
