FED:Charities offered recovery grants

CANBERRA, Feb 18 AAP - Charities and not-for-profit groups directly affected by the
Queensland floods and Cyclone Yasi will be eligible for federal grants.

Eligible groups will receive grants of up to $25000 to help them get back on their
feet, Prime Minister Julia Gillard announced on Friday.

The federal and Queensland governments will fund the grants, offered under the Natural
Disaster Relief and Recovery package.

The grant scheme will run until September 30.
